SEM Imaging
The Langton has been fortunate enough to use the SEM of the St Paul's School in London for a few weeks. This allowed a multitude of images to be taken in great detail, as you can see below.

TEM imaging
The following images of cross-sections of normal and heat treated elytra of Chrysochroa wallacei were taken by Dr Ian Brown, with thanks to Aysha Brown, at the University of Kent in April 2018. The structures shown below are multilayer reflectors, which cause the elytra to be iridescent.
